Sömmerda: full performance for our customers
Since 2001, the Sömmerda plant has been part of TRIMET ALUMINIUM AG. Just like neighbouring Harzgerode, the focus here is also on the production of high-quality aluminium die-cast parts. The key customers are the motor, the electrical and machine-building industries.
Apart from the production of conventional and heat-treated die-cast products we also work here on specific projects to produce weldable die-cast parts.

Well-known car makers are successful with our die-cast parts such as gaskets, guide plates and valve plates for automatic gearboxes.
Our Sömmerda range also includes the development and construction of tools, mould and tool design and construction, mechanical processing, surface finishing of aluminium die-cast parts and the assembly of finished assembly groups.
The Sömmerda aluminium die-cast plant:
- 12 die-cast machines with a closing pressure of 530 t –1,200 t
- 8 CNC-processing plants
- 2 heat treatment kilns
- 3,000 t of casting products
- around 110 employees and around 15 trainees
