TRIMET ALUMINIUM AG a company with personal profile
TRIMETs success story has primarily been written by its founder, Heinz-Peter Schlüter. As early as in 1985, three years after the foundation, the company was transferred into TRIMET Metallhandelsgesellschaft. In 1993, TRIMET took over Gelsenkirchener Recylingwerk für Aluminium. With the acquisition of the aluminium plant in Essen in 1994, TRIMET made its first move towards the industrial production of primary aluminium.

Being a reliable partner, TRIMET has gained a good reputation throughout Europe.
After the turn of the millennium, two die-cast foundries were acquired, one in Harzgerode (Saxony-Anhalt) and one in Sömmerda (Thuringia). In 2001, the business unit Automotive with about 570 jobs was set up. Since then, the Harzgerode plant has had a recycling capacity of around 40,000 t.
The acquisition of Hamburger Aluminiumhütte in 2006 marks the beginning of the next future-oriented chapter. Closed down by the previous owners, the plant was re-opened in a ceremony in May 2007; since then, it has been operating at full capacity.
Heinz-Peter Schlüter has always supported Germany as a modern, dynamic marketplace and has thus paved a solid and independent path to further growth and safeguarding the future for the benefit of customers and staff.
